After the tragic school shooting in Parkland, Florida on February 14, 2018, several colleagues got together to discuss what they might do to bring the perspective and expertise of psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to the public health crisis of gun violence. These initial discussions led to Psychiatrists for Gun Violence Prevention.
Victoria Dinsell, MD is a psychiatrist working in New York City. She trained in public psychiatry and forensic psychiatry, and has an interest in medical education.
Charles Lee, MD is a psychiatrist in Los Angeles County. He has spent his career working in the community mental health setting.
Marc Manseau, MD, MPH is a psychiatrist in New York City. He has expertise in serious mental illness including first-episode psychosis, co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders, and public health and prevention. He has a long history of social justice and health care advocacy, including gun violence prevention.
